Puerto Antioquia is a project that will bring community and social benefits with:

The challenge.
Environmental Challenges
The biggest challenge is the environmental component, which will be involved in all project stages; so far critical species have been found in the area, which leads to constant monitoring and relocation of these species either to a similar or better habitat.
This has led to exhaustive environmental studies and the work of different experts in biology and in each species found in the areas of influence of the project. In addition, it has influenced the time stipulated to carry out the project, as it is a delicate environmental situation, requiring many processes to give the best management to the species found.
Another challenge has been the connecting roads to the project because they were not designed for a high flow of load transport.

Idea Generation
- Monitoring plans and implementation of environmental licenses to protect the species found.
- Relocation of the 4 species found and any future species that may arise as the project progresses, to a sanctuary on a permanent basis, matching or improving their habitat.
- Incorporation of environmental experts to deal with the fauna and flora of the area in the best possible way.
- Traffic management plan, implement new roadway measures, additional signage, bus stops, raised shoulders, and other systems to improve road conditions.

One of the greatest impacts that the project will have on the area is social, due to the hiring and employment generation, since 80% of the workers must be local

Due to some protected areas found in the project sector, has been necessary to monitor and relocate species to new habitats in order to follow the development of the port works

Impact on the community in terms of unusual traffic, due to the project magnitude, heavy traffic has been implemented on roads that are not designed for this flow type.

The Project is divided into 3 zones:
- Onshore Platform (load, silos and administration area)
- Offshore Trestle (supports the access road to the onshore area)
- Offshore Platform (shipping area)
Egis carries out the supervision project in the following stages:
- Stage 1: Assistance to the design stage.
- Stage 2: Supervision (Two activities are generated, the first is technical advice on the tender offer for the silo contractors and the contractors that will execute the high voltage line that carries energy to the port, and the second is the works supervision).
