Reconciling technical innovation and low-carbon engineering.
In response, Egis has developed an extremely ambitious project from a technical and environmental point of view, focusing on energy production, consumption control, air quality and, above all, reducing the carbon impact of buildings.
An energy mix with a very low carbon signature
We have planned to supply the future district with renewable and recovered energy, in particular with heating and cooling generation networks, the mass installation of solar panels on the existing roofs and a smart grid making it possible to choose the least carbon-intensive energy source in real time.
Material choices
On the scale of the district, two thirds of structural elements are planned to be made from wood (primarily French wood) including the floors. This genuine feat was pulled off by Egis in association with Adivbois and the CSTB (Scientific and Technical Building Centre), for the construction of high-rise buildings, given the constraints entailed by the inflammable mass of this material.
Furthermore, low-carbon concrete and/or metal will be used sparingly and in a targeted way so as to create complexes that are less carbon intensive.
An air purification system
This project places air quality at the heart of its design. Indeed, an air purification system has been designed for both the interior and exterior of the buildings. The terraces and public spaces located near the ring road (boulevard périphérique)will also benefit from dedicated air purification systems.
