Ensuring good living conditions for people, preserving the environment, improving government capacity.
Population growth in Southeast Asia has raised serious concerns about urban development. This project is based on studies related to urban water (drinking water, wastewater and drainage), waste management and urban planning.
The objective is to develop solutions for:
- combating climate change by building resilience in cities and infrastructure and improving environmental sustainability
- making cities more liveable
- strengthening governance and institutional capacity
The projects are part of ADB's "grEEEn cities" initiative to make Southeast Asian cities resilient and more livable. The Green Cities Operational Framework (GCOF) combines the 3Es of Economy, Environment and Equity.
