Solving 5 urban conflicts in an 8-month project.
We signed a contract in July 2020, running to February 2021, to prepare conceptual and executive engineering projects for road bridges to phase out urban conflicts at five level crossings located in the cities of Fernandópolis/SP (2), Jales/SP (1) and Urânia/SP (2) involving the EF-364 railway, part of the São Paulo State Road System, under concession by Rumo.
Our field activities comprised a topographic survey, including conventional topographic assessments and the use of a drone, and a survey campaign to obtain all the necessary data to prepare the executive project.
Our project department team worked from our São Paulo office and produced conceptual and executive level projects, to provide details for the works by the final client, Rumo. All projects were carried out using BIM methodology which contributes to technological innovation and integrates all prepared projects.
The BIM model was developed to minimize the interfaces between the projected and existing elements, through the verification of conflicts (clash detection) between the different project disciplines. It also allowed for the extraction of bills of quantities through the 3D model, increasing the CAPEX accuracy of the project, while also contributing to the planning of construction stages through digital simulations in the model (BIM 4D).
Egis' challenge, in addition to providing the best solutions to the client, was to develop all field and project activities for a total of 8 months of work.
