This process was extended throughout the critical stages of manufacturing and transportation, including factory testing, assembly, testing and, finally, commissioning.

Egis was in charge of the Specialized Consultancy of L2 Extension Systems in the stages of Supply, Assembly, Testing and Commissioning.
Installation, assembly, testing and commissioning of: Signaling, automatic piloting, tracks for pneumatic rolling, power, command and supervision, communications, forced ventilation, integration and interfaces.
The location of these stations connects three (3) districts of the city. In addition, the project considered the construction of additional depots for its operation, in an area of approximately 5.6 hectares that is located in the commune of Huechuraba.
The project has an extension of 5.2 km, ending in the commune of San Bernardo, has six construction piques and four stations: El Bosque, Observatorio, Copa Lo Martínez and the terminal station Hospital El Pino, ending with a maneuvering queue.
This project will benefit around 618 thousand people, saving approximately 10 hours of time per month for transport users.
The expansion of Line 2 will have a total of 143 stations distributed in seven lines in operation, through a network of 149 km, significantly improving urban mobility in the region, which will help reduce travel time by up to 32% for 32 thousand daily users from Monday to Friday.
From the Hospital El Pino station alone to downtown Santiago, trips will now take 27 minutes, while other means of transport within the same stretch will take users approximately 40 minutes.
This expansion provides more citizens with direct access to the public transportation system by connecting previously disconnected areas, thus being a tool to help improve mobility, the economy, the environment and quality of life.
