A look back at the major event held on June 20, during which four networks operated by Egis took part in the ASECAP (European Association of Motorway and Toll Road Infrastructure) initiative.
Egis figures
900 - that's the number of days off work for our staff as a result of road accidents caused by third-party drivers. This is why, once again this year, Egis teams were out in force on 4 of the Group's highway networks and had the pleasure of meeting with 281 truck drivers:
- in France on the A63, 37 encounters, 10 nationalities
- in Croatia on the A2, 35 encounters, 6 nationalities
- in Portugal on the A24, 47 encounters, 7 nationalities
- in Poland on the A2, 162 encounters, 6 nationalities
A 100% human operation for the safety of patrols and the well-being of drivers
The aim of this European awareness day was to draw the public's attention to the safety of public and concession company patrols, police, firefighters, emergency services and tow trucks, as well as the comfort of drivers on motorways.
The objective of the operation was to encourage drivers to get actively involved and to establish and strengthen the link between them and patrol officers in the long term. In a friendly atmosphere focused on empathy and caring, exchanges between truck drivers and patrol officers took place in 18 countries: cup of coffee, workshops and simulations to illustrate the risks faced by both parties.
