This new acquisition is part of Egis' Impact the Future strategic plan, which makes the fight against climate change a priority of its business strategy.
At the crossroads of Big Data and energy simulation
Founded in 2012, Openergy was born from the desire of two engineers to develop an energy avatar solution for buildings, crossing Big Data and energy simulation, with the aim of optimizing the energy performance of buildings, from design to operation. After four years of R&D on the subject, the company, from 2017 to 2020, developed two SaaS (Software as a Service) platforms that are now fully operational: one for energy simulation (Oplus), the other for building energy monitoring (Virtual Building Platform). Since the beginning, Openenergy has invested no less than 2.3 M€ in R&D.
In parallel to these IT developments, Openergy also provides energy engineering services for buildings (studies during the tender phase, commissioning during the execution study phase, performance monitoring during operation, etc.), which has enabled it to gain a very good reputation in this market. Since the end of 2020, the start-up has also been developing a new digital audit offer, aimed at positioning itself on the tertiary decree market. It has a dozen employees.
The strength of a large group, combined with the agility of a start-up
Egis is committed to developing an engineering and operating offer that effectively meets the challenges of the climate challenge, for equipment and infrastructures that produce less carbon and are more respectful of biodiversity.
The fast-growing market for energy efficiency services is at the heart of the Group's consulting and construction activities. It is an essential part of the Group's strategy and crystallizes part of the Group's commitment to the energy transition and the 1.5°C trajectory.
In order to significantly increase its market share and its own development capacity, Openergy wishes to get closer to a leader in the building engineering sector, in the forefront of energy commitment. The Egis Group meets both criteria and thus represents an opportunity for the start-up to develop one or more offers on a regional and national scale, for a wide range of public and private clients.
