Egis inaugurated its Africa headquarters in Casablanca on 6 October 2022. At the heart of international connections and with a wide range of skilled human resources, Morocco seems to be the perfect localisation for the management of Egis' African activities.
Egis is located in Casablanca Finance City (CFC) to capitalize on the network and the different advantages that Morocco offers to companies who want to manage their activities in the Africa continent from Casablanca, as part of the kingdom's proactive pan-African policy.
Under the leadership of Arnaud de Rugy, operational, sales, financial and HR teams, previously based in France, will move to Morocco. Through this new and more coherent organisation, Egis confirms its intention to be in line with the Group's strategy, Impact the Future, which aims to double its revenues by 2026 with a strong commitment to the energy and digital transition in its activities.
The Africa region strategy, led from Casablanca, also relies on Egis' regional hubs in Abidjan, Nairobi and Johannesburg, as well as in a dozen countries. As the continent's 7th best engineering company and one of the leading private African road and airport operators, with 1,500 employees on the continent, Egis relies on this new organisation to achieve its ambition to reach a turnover of more than 140 million euros.
With 70 years of experience in more than 25 countries on the continent, Egis designs builds and operates major infrastructure projects for its clients in Africa. Egis manages the Abidjan airport as well as the Brazzaville, Pointe-Noire and Ollombo airports in Congo. Egis also manages 700 km of roads in Uganda and Congo, as well as 14 toll gates in Cameroon.
In engineering, Egis is involved in a large number of major projects on the continent, such as the first Kenitra-Tangier high-speed line, lines 3 & 4 of the Casablanca Tramway, the Grand Mosque of Algiers, the Olembe Stadium in Cameroon, the rehabilitation of urban roads in Abidjan, Conakry and Cotonou, the assistance to the operation of Zanzibar airport and many other infrastructure projects in development.
Africa currently represents 6% of Egis' turnover, which is estimated at 1.5 billion euros by 2022. The Group is currently 40% owned by the French investment fund Tikehau Capital, 34% by Caisse des Dépôts and 26% by its managers and employees.
