François Martin, Nuclear Director at Egis, and Vakisasai Ramany, Senior VP Development - New Nuclear Projects and Engineering at EDF, have just signed an international cooperation agreement for new nuclear EPR and NUWARD SMR projects.
In the context of nuclear renaissance, this agreement provides a concrete response to reduce carbon footprint and achieve neutrality by 2050.
EDF will both benefit from:
- Egis’ multidisciplinary approach in engineering including nuclear global expertise for the design of nuclear power plant (acquired over 70 years) and our large consulting and engineering experience including cross-cutting skills such as: master planning, life cycle analysis, environmental protection, siting, programme management, architecture, construction management, system engineering…
- Egis‘ international presence in 120 countries supporting the “glocal approach” which, in combining the global expertise, global sourcing required for NPP projects and the localization strategy, is key to deliver the new nuclear projects.
This agreement is also based on trust gained through 50+ years of cooperation between EDF and Egis in nuclear, as Egis has been involved with EDF in all French technology reactor projects worldwide. 🤝
The signing took place on 28 November 2023 at the WNE 2023, the world's leading civil nuclear exhibition.
