Egis and Artelia take part in Lebanon's port reconstruction and reorganization, following the dramatic event of August 4, 2020.
The work covers the entire port area, except for the container terminal. It will include:
- rebuilding quays damaged in the explosion,
- reorganizing the port’s layout to streamline traffic,
- shifting the facility to solar power, with the help of EDF's expertise.
The French government funded the development of the plan presented today, on March 13, 2024. by Artelia and Egis.
The Artelia-Egis-EDF works have been deemed by Beirut Regional Economic Department (Service économique régional de Beyrouth) "a pragmatic turnaround, at a reduced cost" for the Beirut port, a major infrastructure for Lebanon's economy and public finances.
