Atrix is a French group with 173 employees specialising in project engineering for cutting-edge industries (particularly nuclear and defence, which account for around 50% of its business), with annual sales of around €22 million in 2023. It has eight branches in France (head office in Lyon) and a subsidiary in Poland, which has enabled it to develop in Eastern Europe.
The Atrix Group is made up of three companies:
- ATR Ingénierie, specialised in engineering and risk management in the nuclear and sensitive industries;
- Faure QEI, specialising in HVAC engineering and technical packages for the high-tech, life sciences and healthcare sectors;
- Blezat, specialising in architecture and building engineering, mainly in the agri-food, pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors.
Atrix provides expertise and consultancy services (assistance with studies, inspections and monitoring) as well as project assignments (multidisciplinary activities involving design, integration, approval, implementation and commissioning).
Stronger position in the nuclear, industrial buildings and healthcare markets
This new acquisition is part of Egis' strategic business development strategy linked to the energy transition and enables the Group to develop and diversify its activities in the key industrial sector.
Nuclear energy
Egis is already a major player in the nuclear sector in France and is visible on the international scene through its emblematic references (EPR, ITER). In particular, our teams have been involved in studies for all the French technology nuclear power reactors built in France (59) or exported to China, South Africa, South Korea, Finland and the United Kingdom. Thomas Salvant, Executive Director of Energy & Sustainable Cities, said: "To meet the growing needs of our nuclear customers in France and abroad, we need to diversify and broaden our range of services. The acquisition of Atrix will allow us to integrate new expertise in complex process engineering and to strengthen our collaboration with our joint customers (EDF, CEA, ANDRA, etc.)".
Industrial buildings
Atrix also has a strong presence in the industrial buildings sector, particularly in the growing pharmaceutical, microelectronics and agri-food sectors in France. The acquisition of Atrix complements the expertise in the construction of controlled environments for cutting-edge activities such as biotechnology, research, life sciences and the battery industry, which will be integrated with the acquisition of AG Concept in September 2022.
Healthcare
Atrix has also developed technical expertise in the construction of healthcare facilities, complementing the range of services developed by Egis in this sector by providing specialised know-how for clinics and other private healthcare facilities.
The acquisition of Atrix strengthens Egis' activities in the nuclear sector and makes Egis one of the leading
French players in controlled environment engineering, while opening up new industrial clients for the group,
particularly in the high-tech, pharmaceutical, food and private health sectors.
